Clean your clipper blades - Clipper Blades need to be regularly cleaned. Remove the horse hair with a stiff brush. Immerse just the blades into blade wash and turn the clippers on. You should see the horse hair coming out of the blades. When you have washed the blades, rub an oil soaked cloth over the back of them.

Keep the blades well oiled - Keeping the blades well oiled will reduce the friction and therefore the heat produced. Try to put the oil between the teeth at the back of the cutter.

Store your blades properly - Wrap your blades in an oil soaked cloth and store them in a moisture free area, rusty blades will go blunt very quickly
